Does anybody know if there's a way to have my Wordpress posts show up over here on my LJ too? I'm pretty sure there is; something tells me I've seen it done before, but I can't find the settings either here or on Wordpress. Then again, knowing me, I'm totally looking in the wrong place.

Every year I do a little Best Albums of... (According to Me, Who is Hardly An Authority But Really Does Love Music). I've done it two years now, once in 2008, which saw a two-way tie between Butch Walker's Sycamore Meadows and Josephine Collective's We Are the Air in the number one slot; and in 2009, where there was ALSO a tie, between Artwork by The Used and This is War by 30 Seconds to Mars.

I also did a Best of the Decade list for the sheer hell of it, which mainly featured thirty different albums that have had some influence on me as a person and had My Chemical Romance's Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge at number one.

That said, I figured why not continue the semi-tradition and post up a Best Albums of 2010 list?

Figured I'd post over here and let everybody know that I've posted the second part of chapter one of The Becoming over at my Wordpress blog. Here's the link to the new section.

In May, my cousin Anna-Coleman Yelverton was diagnosed with sinus cancer. She's eight years old. Here's the news article that was posted about her when the first fundraiser was organized, from the Demopolis Times.


There's tons of fundraisers going on right now to help her and her family, and I thought I'd do my part and ask that you help me with this.

I'm asking for donations to go towards her medical bills. Even if you can only donate a dollar, every dollar would help.

I fell pretty behind on this, so I'm reposting what I originally posted, with song downloads this time (Edit 12/4/2010: High chance the downloads don't work anymore; attempt at your own risk)! (Though I'm lazy and not bothering with the descriptions/opinions/etc.) And yes, I know one or more of these were technically released in 2007, but they made the list because I didn't really get into them until 2008. (Such as #2, even though I had it downloaded and on my mp3 player for the longest time, I never really listened to it ntil early in 2008.)

Josephine Collective's album is finally being released. Unfortunately, it's only a digital copy. Apparently, WBR is determined to ignore what the fans want, which is a hard-copy CD, and is releasing it as a digital release only (hopefully, we'll be able to change their minds on it). Either way, it's the album, and it's coming out next Tuesday, and I'll so be on top of that next week the minute it goes on sale, unless I'm at work.

Anyway, buy it when it comes out! No one on my friends' list will escape my nagging! Buhwahahahahaaha!


Edit: It's also available on iTunes as a preorder for $9.99, for those of you who prefer to use that instead.

This is quite possibly one of the most interesting blogs I've read in a long time. Even better is the fact that I agree with almost every word Jason Tate says about record labels (and the bands in them in the first part).

I don't have anything intelligent to say about it at the moment. It's almost 4pm and I really should have been trying to sleep, like, five hours ago. But I'd love to read your comments. :D
