Josephine Collective's album is finally being released. Unfortunately, it's only a digital copy. Apparently, WBR is determined to ignore what the fans want, which is a hard-copy CD, and is releasing it as a digital release only (hopefully, we'll be able to change their minds on it). Either way, it's the album, and it's coming out next Tuesday, and I'll so be on top of that next week the minute it goes on sale, unless I'm at work.

Anyway, buy it when it comes out! No one on my friends' list will escape my nagging! Buhwahahahahaaha!

Edit: It's also available on iTunes as a preorder for $9.99, for those of you who prefer to use that instead.

This was in the most recent post in [info]lj_2008 for user discussion:

"Subscriptions – Should moderators be able to charge for access to closed communities?"

Am I the only one who can see the serious problems this would cause?

If you're against something as horrifically stupid as that, please let SUP know by posting a comment telling them so on the latest entry to [info]lj_2008.

I just ate at Waffle House with Dillon, Jared, and Colby from Josephine Collective.

They are some awesome guys. And Dillon stole a dollar in quarters from me for the jukebox. :P

Will post an update about the show later (it hasn't even started yet!)

This is quite possibly one of the most interesting blogs I've read in a long time. Even better is the fact that I agree with almost every word Jason Tate says about record labels (and the bands in them in the first part).

I don't have anything intelligent to say about it at the moment. It's almost 4pm and I really should have been trying to sleep, like, five hours ago. But I'd love to read your comments. :D

Mindless Self Indulgence is gonna be in Atlanta in May. Presale starts on December 15th. I'm trying to decide if it's worth going to see them, as I haven't really heard much (if anything) by them.

Anybody got any mp3s to share?

Gah.
I just ordered three shirts from Threadless. :D Part of my Christmas gift from my parents, as they're giving me money on the condition that I buy things other than plugs and stuff with it. It's about $150, so I just spent $30 of it. By the end of the month, I'll probably be handing the cash right back to my mom and telling her to put it on my card on top of the regular payment I make.

I like the shirts though. I really need a good coat. I'm about to poke around online for one; anybody got any suggestions for places to look? Please to be keeping in mind that I'd like to stretch my money as far as I can make it go.

New LJ name! [info]a_silent_song, a phrase that incorporates both my love of music, my musicianship, AND my ultimate #1 favorite song of all time: "Buddha for Mary" by 30 Seconds to Mars.

*is all smiles now*

Edit: I also have a paid account now. :D

Trying to get rid of a lot of shit out of my jewelry box and all. So I've made a new journal to sell them at: [info]jessicas_plugs. There's plugs, tapers, and standard earrings available there, if you're bored enough and have money to spend. *needs money like fat kids need candy*

/shameless self promotion and pimpage.

So now that it's been officially confirmed, I'm gonna take a moment to rant.

WTF IS IT WITH PEOPLE OUT OF MY FAVORITE BANDS QUITTING/GETTING KICKED OUT?!?!?!

First, there was Branden getting kicked out of The Used.

Then, there was Sonny Moore quitting From First to Last.

Now, NOW, Matt Wachter quit 30 Seconds to Mars.

WTF?

Edit: Also? This is getting kinda pathetic.

True chaos ensued Thursday at the Taste of Chaos tour stop in El Paso, Texas, resulting in 30 Seconds to Mars singer Jared Leto sustaining a broken nose and other injuries.

According to a spokesperson for the band's record label, Leto was injured when he ran into the crowd during "The Kill" and thousands of fans overpowered security and rushed toward him on the floor of County Coliseum.

Along with his nose, which was unintentionally broken, Leto suffered a foot injury and superficial injuries to his face and body.

Leto finished the show and even declared it one of the best of the tour, but eventually checked into a hospital to ensure that none of his injuries would require surgery. 30 Seconds to Mars are scheduled to perform Friday (March 2) in Dallas.

"I've been producing shows for 25 years and this was one of the scariest moments I have witnessed," Taste of Chaos organizer Kevin Lyman said in a statement. "We hope Jared's injuries are all minor and that he has a speedy recovery."

No fans were seriously injured in the melee, according to the band's spokesperson.

Just...wow. People acting like animals, apparently. And this is right after losing Matt. 30 Seconds to Mars is definitely NOT having a good tour this time around, what with everything that's happened so far:

1. Tech problems from the very first show, that are ongoing
2. Jared getting sick and having to go to the hospital, forcing the band to cancel a show
3. Matt leaving the band
4. Jared getting mobbed by so-called "Echelon" members

What next, I wonder?

It's stories like this that give the normal PETA people a bad name.

Bloody fanatics, the lot of 'em.

Hypocrites, too. If I ran an organization that rallied against the abuse and mistreatment of animals, and I found out one or more of my employees were actually the problem, do you think I would support them? Hell no.

Despite this assessment, Newkirk and PETA stood by Hinkle and Cook in the coming months, consistently advocating for their innocence and hiring the legal team that will represent them at the trial that begins Jan. 22 in Hertford County Superior Court.

Ignoring the fact that they were caught in the act of dumping the poor dead dogs, too. So sad.

Oh Lord, what a story I have for you guys.

Yesterday, me, Jennifer, and Janet went shopping in Montgomery so we could--predictably--finish up with our Christmas shopping. So we're leaving the Eastdale Mall to head for Target to get a couple of giftcards for my older sister for Christmas, and Montgomery roads are entirely too confusing for their own good. I accidentally got into a right-turn-only lane, and was trying to get out of it because we're supposed to be going straight, when I hit a very large pothole and...

blew a tire out.

In Montgomery.

During rush hour.

So I pull over immediately after a general, "Oh shit, what did I do now?!" kind of thing. Jennifer's in the passenger seat, and she gets out of the car first as I'm putting it in park and turning on the emergency hazard lights. She informs me I blew a tire, and we call her dad. We figure we can replace the spare--I suppose he had taught her how to do that.

So while she's on the phone, I pop the trunk and start digging around, trying to find out what I have and don't have.

All I have? Is the spare tire, which isn't really a tire. More of one of those donut things.

So...we were in the shit. At that point, I'm starting to lose it just a little, and I sit down in my trunk, put my head in my hands, and say, "This has so not been my week." Then I look up to say something to Janet, who is standing nearby. And something red catches my eye. Behold the glowing, neon-red sign that declares, AutoZone, not even fifty yards away. I started laughing and pointed it out to Janet. She starts laughing and we all decide to go there and see if they can't help us. The kind man at AutoZone grabs a jack and a tire-iron to change the tire for us, and we walk back over to my car. At some point during the tire change, another car pulls up, and we think, "Oh, a good samaritan" kind of thing. But while yes, he was being a good samaritan, the man also works for the manufacturer of my car and was more than happy to help the AutoZone guy change it out for the spare.

I'm laughing the whole time, thinking it's just bloody funny, and Jennifer flags me over to inform me that I picked a really good spot for getting a blow out. I'm like, "Yeah, right next to AutoZone," and she adds, "And across the street from a Walmart." She points and I start laughing again.

Then a cop car pulls up just as the Hyundai and AutoZone guys are finishing with the tire, and once they're done, he blocks traffic while we pull out and go across the street. Kind man even followed us over to Walmart to make sure we got there okay.

Then, at Wally-World, we end up jumping around screaming because they had a tire in stock that matched mine. They replaced it and everything was happy, if not a little hysterical. Though now I owe Jennifer and Janet twenty bucks each for helping me with the cost of the tire. I've got it, I just gotta get it to them. :P

So yeah, funny evening all around.
